Former NRL star Issac Luke’s father has been confirmed as the ninth casualty of New Zealand’s Cyclone Gabrielle. 7NEWS
George Luke and his partner Mau Goodman were travelling home to Hastings through a winding road over the Kaweka Ranges on Monday night when they hit trouble.Fearing the worst after not hearing from them, the family activated an immediate search party and made pleas on social media for any information.
George Luke had been involved with local New Zealand rugby league club, the Hawera Hawks, who sent out their condolences to the Luke “whanau”, which is Maori for ‘extended family’.
