Celebrity couple Todd and Rebecca Talbot can\u0027t wait to hoof it back into theatre gig.
“Rebecca and I met 20 years ago doing musicals at the Arts Club. And then musicals and us had a nice, somewhat lengthy breakup,” said Todd. “For me, it’s a chance to come back after an eight-year sabbatical from theatre doing TV and get to do one of the shows that has been on my bucket list.
The story follows banker Bobby Child, played by Todd, who dreams of tripping the light fantastic on the Broadway stage being sent to foreclose on the Gaiety Theatre in Nevada. There, he meets and falls for the daughter of the owner, Polly Baker, played by Rebecca. The two concoct a scheme to combine New York Follies girls with a ramshackle roster of musically adept local cowboys to mount a production to save the dilapidated, debt-ridden venue. Naturally, there are complications.
It’s something that the Talbots are keenly aware of as they prepare for a return to the stage. Admitting that it’s understandable why companies shy away from producing the show, which boasts upwards of 30 cast accompanied by a lot of demanding staging, Rebecca admits her own reasons for celebrating Crazy for You are all about love.
Reunited with longtime colleague Easton, the pair are pumped about putting on the Ritz once again. That said, being in a production with a company that has a 30-year-plus history of professional quality work comes with expectations. Easton is a demanding taskmaster and getting back in stride is challenging.
