Roughnecks wrap up big weekend with drop of Mammoth at Dome NLL
That followed Friday night’s crush of the Saskatchewan Rush, also on their home floor, to give them a significant boost in the National Lacrosse League standings, especially against those West Division foes they dropped at the Dome.
“We were scoring in transition, and then we were becoming that we were relying on those goals,” said Riggers head coach Curt Malawsky of past efforts. “It’s OK to have a good transition game and to rely on those goals, but obviously, we need guys to score. We know in this league when you play tough teams and you get down the stretch that your goal-scorers have got to find goals.
“I think for the first time in a longtime, we got a lot of possessions offensively,” Pace said. “We were able to just flow. The defence did a good job getting off the floor for us, and we did a good job getting off the floor for them, so we didn’t have to play that transition game. But it’s nice to know that we can win in all facets.”Article content
But only Eli McLaughlin’s shot beat Del Bianco again before the break, while the Roughnecks got busy putting together some highlight-reel goals.
