A hat-trick — and then some — from each of King and Haiden Dickson helped move the Roughnecks keep up their winning ways, as both shooters ended with four goals. King — now with 20 goals in 2022-23, led with eight points on the night, while Dickson — now with 16 markers — finished with seven points. And Riggers goaltender Christian Del Bianco made more than 50 saves.
But it didn’t take long for the Roughnecks to extend their lead to three, anyway, when Zach Currier won the the second-quarter faceoff cleanly, walked into the Warriors zone and fired his 10th of the season home. The 5-2 lead, however, was lost over the next four minutes, as the Warriors found their scoring with four quick ones to take a one-goal advantage.
