Vice President Leni Robredo commemorated the country’s Labor Day by highlighting the Filipino workers’ need for “just wages,” “protection from abuse,” and “elimination of the old and rotten system” to reach progress.

Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday, May 1, commemorated the country’s Labor Day by highlighting the Filipino workers’ need for “just wages,” “protection from abuse,” and “elimination of the old and rotten system” to reach progress.Robredo, who is set to attend a Labor Day event organized by the Alliance of Labor Leaders for Leni and Workers for Leni at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, invited all Filipinos to step forward to a “brighter” future.

A brighter tomorrow for the Philippines would mean Filipinos are free from hunger, violence, and corruption. In the statement, the Vice President, who already promised to make the Security of Tenure bill a priority legislation if she wins on May 9, said she is one with the Filipinos in celebrating the dignity of the ordinary workers and their contributions to the Filipino community.
