YONG PENG: The first batch of the Bantuan Wang Ihsan (BWI) government cash aid has been disbursed to 835 families affected by the floods here, says Ling Tian Soon.
The Johor Health and Unity Committee chairman said the RM1,000 cash aid was presented to 397 families that recently sought shelter at the Baitul Islah, SMK Dato Seth, SK Taman Seri Kota, Sekolah Agama Seri Kota and Yong Peng High School temporary flood relief centres .
“The state government is quite concerned about the victims’ welfare and has directed all local councils to distribute the cash aid to those affected as soon as possible,” said the Yong Peng assemblyman on his Facebook page on Friday .
