The city will trap — and potentially euthanize — a coyote or coyotes who’ve become unafraid of people in the Riverside Park South area starting Friday.

City hall said it will let people know when the operation is over but in the meantime warned residents to avoid the McCarthy Woods area and hydro corridors between Riverside Drive in the west and McCarthy Road in the east. “Animal owners are asked to keep their small pets indoors or otherwise on-leash and under direct supervision, especially at night,” the city said.— a small dog and a cat — within three weeks in August and September. It was unclear whether the sightings involved one or more animals.
