Charlottetown Police Services retrieved a rifle and ammunition found on a Charlottetown lawn Nov. 12, 2022. - File PhotoCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — A rifle discovered on the lawn of a Charlottetown home on Nov. 12 has been picked up by police.
The .32 calibre Winchester Special model 94 was in a case along with ammunition when it was found by the homeowner. A news release issued later in the day Nov. 14 said the owner had just returned from hunting in New Brunswick and, while transferring items from one vehicle to another, the case was accidentally left behind.
Pound wasn’t sure how long the carrier containing the rifle was out in the open before it was discovered.
