F1: Australian Oscar Piastri has burnt his own teammate to secure second place in the Sprint Race in Austria.

Max Verstappen continued his imperious form in Red Bull ’s homeland on Saturday when, after winning the sprint race , he claimed a convincing pole position for Sunday’s Austria n Grand Prix.

Tsunoda also copped a hefty $AUD64,000 fine for a radio outburst, although $32,000 has been suspended and he’ll only have to pay should he be disciplined for a similar incident. The radio outburst also occurred when Tsunoda was overtaken in the pitlane by Guanyu Zhou, but Tsunoda defended himself and said he didn’t know the severity of the slur given English isn’t his first language.

Verstappen led the way out of the pit lane for the opening of Q1 with the Styrian Alps simmering in the heat with a track temperature of 47 degrees and the air at 32. Mercedes left their first runs until later, but Russell temporarily took over top spot with Hamilton slotted in seventh.
