Review: Tour-de-force performance in solo Shakespeare show yyc
Haysom plays a rather excited William Shakespeare who wants to tell his audiences why he wrote Macbeth and then act out a brief version of his play. He’s particularly proud to relate that King James I asked him to write a play that would warn against anyone attempting to usurp the crown as Macbeth does. He explains that he opens the play with the witches scene because James I was an avid fan of all things supernatural. He loves the fact, with this play, he’s in the King’s good graces.
