Reveal reasons for approving Penang South Islands project, says group FMTNews

PETALING JAYA: An NGO has called on the environment director-general to disclose the grounds for approving the Penang South Islands project, as well as the 71 conditions imposed on it.

SAM said as the proposed project spanned a total area of 4,500 acres , it would require an estimated 207 million cubic metres of fill material. Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow said the approval was given by the natural resources, environment and climate change ministry with 71 conditions under an elaborate environmental management plan.
