ASD could commandeer breached IT systems under proposed reforms: ClennellThe Australian Signals Directorate could be given authority to commandeer IT systems of Australian companies experiencing a cyberattack under newly proposed reforms, according to Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell. The proposed reforms follow the Optus and Medibank hacks which occurred last year. “That is a question posed, as I understand it, in the discussion paper to be released later today drawn up by former Telstra boss Andy Penn and others, and that’s on the way forward in terms of cybersecurity policy,” he said.

Snowy Hydro 2.0 over budget and ‘way behind schedule’The Australian's Environment Editor Graham Lloyd says Snowy Hydro 2.0 is “way behind schedule” and way over budget with estimates showing it could cost $20 billion. “It’s way behind schedule, it’s way over budget and Chris Bowen is probably still trying to put enough political space between himself and the project as the costs and delays continue to mount,” Mr Lloyd told Sky News host Sharri Markson. “This was supposed to cost about $2 billion in the first instance, now the latest estimates are – it might be $20 billion.”
