Volleyball never stops as the 2025 PVL Invitational kicks off four days after the On Tour preseason, featuring the top four preseason squads and two Japan ese standout teams Kobe Shinwa and reigning Invitational champion Kurashiki Ablaze MANILA, Philippines – Volleyball never stops in the Philippines, and the Premier Volleyball League keeps the fire going before the monthlong break for the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship with the PVL Invitational on Thursday, August 21, just four days after the On Tour preseason concluded.
Once again, international flair returns to the country’s only pro league as two Japanese teams enter the six-team fray: the Kobe Shinwa Women’s University and the reigning Invitational champion Kurashiki Ablaze. Representing the Philippines are the top four teams of the On Tour preseason, namely the newly crowned champion PLDT High Speed Hitters, runners-up Chery Tiggo Crossovers, third-placers Creamline Cool Smashers, and the No. 4 Cignal HD Spikers.JR Isaga is a multimedia sports reporter for Rappler, where he started as an intern, then became a stringer in 2017.
