The Prime Minister has delivered a message over Australia-China relations as the two countries mark 50 years of diplomatic ties and the Foreign Minister touches down in Beijing.
"Can I acknowledge and thank the government of the People's Republic of China for the invitation to be here so that we can spend the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries.Relations between Australia and China reached a low in early 2020 after then prime minister Scott Morrison called for an inquiry into the origins of COVID-19.
"Australian lobster, sea cucumber, health products, wool boots and pearls are all products that are widely enjoyed by our consumers," the article said. Ms Wong added she"will continue to advocate for Australians detained, as I always do" as Cheng Lei and Yang Hengjun remain detained in China.
