PARIS (Reuters) - Five-times world champion Leon Marchand is gearing up for the Olympics in style, having completed an impressive 200 metres butterfly and breaststroke double at the French trials on the same day - a feat he hopes to achieve in Paris this summer.

KOTA KINABALU: Time is running out, and the residents of Tanjung Aru Low Cost Flats are hoping for leniency to stay a little longer until their promised alternative homes are ready.

Wong, who had been staying in his flat for 26 years, added that LPPB had promised 100 units of low-cost houses in Kibabaig, Penampang for them, and to date, 24 families had taken up the offer. In March last year, LPPB chairman Datuk Masiung Banah stated that a consultant appointed following an agreement between the residents and the authority had said the buildings were unsafe and advised that the buildings be demolished.

"I have been staying here long, together with my wife and three children, of which two are school-going and one is autistic. Just like others, we are also forced to vacate our homes, but my family has not been offered any alternative homes," he said, adding that they currently paid RM170 rent at their current place.

Tanjung Aru Madani Village Development Committee chairman, Kapitan Mely Loh, meanwhile, said that most residents, especially the elderly, preferred relocation to nearby areas.
