A Community Safety Zone on Walls Road limits drivers to 40 kilometres per hour but a Prince Township woman says many drivers don't respect the reduced speed limit

A Prince Township woman will appear before council Tuesday to express concerns about people speeding along a 40 kilometre per hour stretch on Walls Road.

“When we first came to look at the house it was a very quiet rural and tranquil neighbourhood, there was a playground and we knew it was on a school bus route and we really liked the area,” said Miller by phone. “We bought the house and realized pretty quickly this 40 kilometre an hour community safety zone — nobody is really doing it.”

“People fly past them. I walk with a stroller and my pets — my neighbours do the same — it’s a concern,” said Miller. "In her letter, Miller said she doesn’t feel safe using the stretch of road outside her home for recreational purposes and is always cautious and nervous when she does. “Instead of date night I am going to be doing a deposition, but that’s okay,” she said. “I am hoping that council and Prince Township’s mayor see this as a legitimate concern and take action, that they acknowledge it and come forward with a concrete action plan to address this safety issue in a quiet neighbourhood with a lot of young families.”
