The Kansas City Royals have reached a one-year, $2,5-million deal with catcher Martin Maldonado, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.
, recently changed representation from Scott Boras to Dan Lozano. Boras: “The Kansas City deal was in place and finalized without us knowing Maldonado had switched agents.” Boras will collect commission on Maldonado’s deal.Maldonado will replace perennial All-Star Salvador Perez, who is out for the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
