Law Enforcement Conduct Commission says 60 officers were investigated over a four-year period

Of the 222 complaint investigations reviewed, 70 matters related to 60 officers being involved in domestic and family violence incidents. This resulted in 17 officers being charged.Of the 60 officers involved, 11 were found to have been previously investigated for domestic and family violence, in some cases more than once.
Police are the first to respond to most domestic and family violence incidents with officers attending about 500 call-outs every day. “In 2022, NSW police established a domestic and family violence reform project with a focus of prioritising the health and wellbeing of victims by targeting those who perpetuate violence,” a spokesperson said.
