Transport Minister Anthony Loke has updated that repairs for the damaged structure near Bandaraya LRT station will start in March. It will take an estimated time of up to 7 months to be completed.
. Transport Minister Anthony Loke has provided an update and it appears that full restoration of the damaged structure is expected to be completed by October 2023.
According to the minister, Prasarana is in the process of appointing a contractor to conduct repair works which will start in early March. The repair works are expected to be completed within 7 months which is sometime in October 2023. He revealed that it takes two months for temporary works to strengthen the structure and another five months for comprehensive repair works.
The minister added that he is aware of the inconvenience and difficulties faced by commuters and Prasarana is doing its best to take mitigation measures to reduce the service disruption. The alternative public transport services between the affected stations that were introduced on 27th January 2023 are still running.
The recent disruption to the LRT Sri Petaling and Ampang Lines was caused by ground movements believed to be from a nearby construction site.
