The NSW Liberal and Labor parties say the secret auction that takes place during the rental application process will be banned, as the state election nears.

Secret rent bidding is already outlawed in other states," Labor's better regulation and innovation spokesperson Courtney Houssos said.Ms Houssos said the opposition also aims to end rent biddings, as part of a suite of rental reforms if it wins the March election.
