The Sydney Test is off to a dramatic start with Matthew Renshaw's return suffering a major blow on the first day of play.
Eagle-eyed viewers noticed the 26-year-old stood separated from the rest of the squad and without his arms linked during the singing of the national anthems on Wednesday.
Matt Renshaw did not link arms with his teammates after he tested positive for COVID-19 on the first day of the SCG Test. Picture: Mark Kolbe/Getty Images Under the current rules players are allowed to continue playing in a match even if they test positive to COVID-19 or the team can use a “like-for-like” replacement.
Renshaw sat on the boundry rope rather than in the changerooms with the rest of the team on day one.
