The City of Ottawa said Wednesday that it was postponing registration scheduled to start later that evening for other fall recreation activities due to technical issues, but that aquatics programs registration would remain open.
Leitch said she has since put her daughter on the wait list for swim classes, though she wasn’t hopeful. “I’ve been dealing with the registration system for a long time now,” Coulter said, adding she had many years of practice registering her son, Holden, now 17, for classes. “The system can never handle the demand, so you end up getting the error like that you can’t connect.”
On Wednesday afternoon, the city announced it was postponing registration scheduled to start later that evening for other fall recreation activities due to technical issues with the system at the recommendation of the service provider. A memo to mayor and council written by Dan Chenier, the city’s general manager of recreation, said staff were “working diligently” with ACTIVENet management and engineers to determine the cause of the disruption during aquatic registration.
