The Bacon trial has already had videos played of shooting victim Dennis Karbovanec giving statements to police about the attempt on his life 10-plus years ago.
Nurse Mary Marinaccio was on a smoke break and standing outside the emergency door when Karbovanec and a second man approached. A former associate, who can only be identified as AB, testified earlier that he was present at the shooting on Mission’s Bench Ave. and that Karbovanec escaped serious injury when the would-be killer’s gun jammed.
That was Karen Chapman, who identified herself in another video taken inside the hospital emergency waiting room that night.Chapman ran over to assist Karbovanec, lifting him up, then guiding him by his left arm into the treatment area.
