On Dec. 31, 2021, Peterson retweeted American conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, who had posted several statements regarding COVID-19 and government restrictions. Peterson added his own comments, calling for an end to lockdowns, an end to mask mandates and allowing people to get on with their lives.
