Police are asking for the public’s help after a fight broke out at a Port Coquitlam school this month.
In a news release issued today , Coquitlam RCMP say the altercation happened around 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17 — after school ended for the winter break — on the basketball court at Citadel Middle School . The assault sent a man to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries; prior to the incident, he was involved with a group of young men, Cpl. Alexa Hodgins said.Hodgins said Mounties are reaching out for assistance as there wasn’t a lot of people around at the time due to the poor weather.
Anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who has information is asked to call the RCMP detachment at 604-945-1550, quoting file number 2022-33305.In January 2020, a 13-year-old boy was arrested for uttering threats and assault causing bodily harm following a verbal confrontation between four boys; it escalated when a 14-year-old girl was injured.
