-- British personal computer maker Raspberry Pi has announced that it is considering a London initial public offering, a rare win for the exchange after a number of British firms chose to list in the US.The company, which makes low-cost computers popular among industrial IoT customers, hobbyists and educators said it intended to publish a registration document with the London Stock Exchange , according to a statement Wednesday.
The company was previously reported to be considering a listing in early 2022. Since then, it raised money from British chipmaker Arm Holdings Plc and Sony Group Corp.’s semiconductor division. It was valued at about $560 million post the Arm investment. London has faced an exodus from its exchange, with listed companies including Arm and bookmaker Flutter Entertainment Plc snubbing the city in favor of New York. The UK exchange accounted for just over 2% of the $11.9 billion raised in IPOs in Europe this year, the lowest share in decades, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. British companies, particularly tech firms, often bet they can get higher valuations in New York.
