Mr Albanese said: “We want the senate to pass this legislation because it will assist more people… into home ownership.” Housing Minister Clare O’Neil accused parties blocking the bill of “teaming up to prevent childcare workers and paramedics… from getting access to home-ownership”. While she admitted she didn’t “expect much better from the Coalition” she blamed the Greens for “rank hypocrisy”.
The bill cannot pass through the upper house without Greens' support, but Greens housing spokesman Max Chandler-Mather has refused to budge.
