The flag was flown for Intersex Awareness Day at City Hall in Sydney on Wednesday. Veronica Merryfield, left, who runs the Cape Breton Transgender Network, did the honours of raising the intersex flag, which flew for one day. She was joined by Robert Zwarun. The intersex flag was also raised in Halifax at Province House. Intersex Awareness Day aims to bring to light human rights issues intersex people face. The first Intersex Awareness Day was held in 1996.
