Met Éireann has said that counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow will experience persistent rain across Christmas Day.
The forecaster has said that rainfall of 30mm to 50mm could lead to localised flooding in some areas.Christmas Day is to be wet and breezy in most areas throughout the day, although Met Éireann has said that a clearance may develop in Munster and south Connacht in the early afternoon. However while it may become brighter with scattered showers in the southwest, rain will continue elsewhere for much of the day.
