Coliban Water has issued a boil water advisory for Echuca after stormwater entered one of the treated water storage tanks, possibly compromising drinking water. 7NEWS
Victoria’s emergency management commissioner, Andrew Crisp, said the heavy rain would reach metropolitan Melbourne on Thursday afternoon.
Residents in the area have been advised to boil their drinking water and any water used for food preparation until further notice.On Wednesday, a slow-moving active landslide forced the closure of Bogong High Plains Road, with those left in the area told they may not be able to leave for three days. Damaging wind gusts of up to 110km/h are tipped to hit alpine peaks on Thursday and clear from Friday morning.Emergency service crews prepare sandbags at Chelsea.With large downpours expected, Premier Daniel Andrews reminded people not to drive into floodwaters.
