Every day this week, SooToday will feature an in-depth conversation with one of the five candidates running for mayor in this year's election. Today: Matthew Shoemaker
On Oct. 24, the people of Sault Ste. Marie will elect a new mayor — a decision that will help shape the future of our city over the next four years.
Five candidates have thrown their hats in the ring: Ozzie Grandinetti, Donna Hilsinger, Tobin Kern, Robert Peace and Matthew Shoemaker. SooToday invited all five mayoral hopefuls to our downtown studio for an in-depth, one-on-one conversation about the urgent issues facing our community, and how they plan to tackle them.
This week, we will post one interview per day, Monday to Friday. To ensure fairness, we used an online "randomizer" to select the order.
