SINGAPORE: A practising lawyer found himself standing sheepishly in the dock of the State Courts on Wednesday (Nov 6), after an alcohol-fuelled night out at Zouk nightclub in 2022.
THE operator of a Batu Pahat eatery says he was cheated over a sale of luxury watches even though the buyer purportedly deposited the money in his bank account.
Unfortunately, when he checked his account the following day, the seller found that the money was not there.According to Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani, payment had been refused on the cheque and it was listed as"returned". The victim then saw that the deposit had been made, and handed over the watches to a courier hired by the suspect.
