Is this claim legitimate?
Such news is even more believable when it comes with the photo of a leader such as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on it, as it can give the impression that he is endorsing such a scheme.
Recently, a poster with Anwar's face and the Malaysia Madani symbol went viral online along with a claim that RM400 is being offered as credit on the online trading platform Shopee. In a statement on its official Facebook page, the Prime Minister’s Department said that a viral poster on social media titled"RM400 Shopee Credit for Malaysians” is fake.
"The public is advised not to disseminate or share information if they are unsure it is true or false,” said the department.
