Are scammers misusing the bank's name to dupe internet users into falling for a deposit scheme?

Recently, posts circulated on social media, purportedly from a credible Malaysian bank, said that depositors would be able to earn high returns with deposits as little as a few hundred ringgit.

Are scammers misusing Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd's name to dupe internet users into falling for a deposit scheme?In a Facebook post, the bank urged internet users to be aware of such scams and not to be taken in by alleged high returns.It said the public can contact and report any scam to the bank's hotline at 03-2615 8000 or the National Scam Response Centre at 997.
