A former Brisbane teacher has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting teenage boys on overseas youth group trips, including in New Zealand and Africa.The teacher appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.Investigators will allege he sexually assaulted teenage boys between 2014 and 2019 in his capacity as a secondary school teacher, youth group leader and sports facilitator across Toowong, Mount Tamborine, Pullenvale, Darra and Dakabin.
Officers will further allege the overseas offending involved victims who travelled with the man as part of youth groups to New Zealand and Africa. He has been charged with 11 offences, including three counts each of sexual activity and sexual assault and five counts of indecent treatment.The matter will next be heard on Friday, January 20.Anyone wishing to make a complaint to police about sexual violence can do so online, over the phone or face-to-face at a police station.
