The Sunshine State's Police Commissioner has spoken about the 'broken hearts' of Queensland's force following the death of two young constables and revealed how the pair who survived are coping since the ambush that almost cost them their lives.
Constables Keely Brough and Randall Kirk, both 28, miraculously survived when brothers Nathaniel and Gareth Train fired numerous bullets at them during what was supposed to be a"routine" call out for a welfare check about a missing person., who first attended the rural property in Wieambilla, about four hours north-west of Brisbane on Monday afternoon.

Picture: Peta McEachern Queensland Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll told Sky News Australia she had spoken to the pair on Tuesday who relayed they were grateful to have survived.
Commissioner Carroll fears Keely, who was in the force for only nine weeks, and Randall will"forever" live with the moment they saw the execution of their colleagues.
