Margaret Hague has spent 10 months in care at the Townsville University Hospital while waiting to be transferred to aged care. "The [hospital] had a duty of care with Mum, and they failed her, the staff on duty failed her, and the management has failed her," Ms Slattery said. Ms Hague was removed from her aged care home in October and is waiting to be transferred to another home more suitable for her needs.

"I can confirm an incident involving a patient and a staff member occurred at Townsville University Hospital on June 25," Mr Keyes said. Mr Keyes confirmed the staff member involved had not been suspended but had been relocated to a new work unit.
