A Queensland man, wanted for allegedly carrying an AK-47, is under under police guard in Sydney after an alleged carjacking involving a firearm. 9News

allege a 38-year-old man was sitting in his car at a set of traffic lights when wanted man Mitchell James Wilson got into his car with a gun on Old Canterbury Road in Dulwich Hill about 7.50pm yesterday.

Wilson allegedly told him to keep driving until they got into a fight on Canterbury Road in Campsie.Mitchell James Wilson is wanted by Queensland Police for allegedly firing an AK-47, burning down a house and confronting women in a dark alley. Police allege the victim got out of the car and called police while Wilson kept driving until he crashed into a parked car on Bexley Road in Earlywood.Wilson was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for observation where he remains under police guard."The driver who sustained a minor injury to is hand was visibly upset in relation to the matter," Superintendent Nespa Fitzgerald said.

She said police were aware Wilson was wanted in Queensland but they would deal with the NSW Police matters first before a potential extradition.Wilson is on the run from Queensland Police after two alleged shootings, a house fire and confronting women in a dark alley last month."I consider this man armed, dangerous, irrational, but particularly unpredictable," detective superintendent Andrew Massingham said in April.
