Outgoing premier Steven Miles’ speech did not include a concession nor did he congratulate the premier-elect; David Crisafulli vows to get cracking after election win. Follow live updates.

Nationals Leader David Littleproud says Steven Miles was “arrogant” and his speech was “ugly” after the Queensland Labor Leader failed to admit defeat in a speech on Saturday night. Littleproud took the opportunity to slam Miles on Sky News after he did not concede but instead said “many seats remain too close to call” even though it was clear Labor would not secure a majority. “If I was in the Labor caucus, I’d be reflecting on the ability for Stephen Miles to lead.

I think it’s a poor reflection on him,” Littleproud said. “No matter what happens in a result, you actually need to uphold the principles of our great democracies and the actual tone of it. “Steven Miles trashed that last night. It showed his character and lack thereof and I just think it would have been better for him to at least acknowledge David and his family and congratulate him.” He said it was huge for the Greens to lose one and possibly two seats in Queensland.
