Development of the new forensic unit will occur in 2023 and work has begun on an interim unit with an independent board and a new chief executive officer, the government said on Thursday. Three subcommittees will be established to advise on scientific and technical best practice, sexual assault responses and the priorities for retrospective case analysis.
