In April, a Quebec woman died after her car plummeted into a river. A witness says she was pulled out of the water 72 minutes after the accident. Her family and friends wonder what more could have been done to save her.
Marise Tanguay, Bertrand Potvin and Karl Thériault visited the site of the crash in the weeks that followed.
It's part of what makes water-rescue training challenging, says Westley Grenon, director of operations at SIFA, an organization that offers water rescue training courses. A team of firefighters from Boisbriand, Que., practise rescuing one another from rapids in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield in May. "The famous go/no-go call is the hardest thing any rescuer will have to face when in the field," said Grenon.

Tanguay Pelletier's boyfriend, Karl Thériault, had only met her in January but had quickly fallen in love with her sense of humour and her positive outlook."We were so happy," said Thériault.
