QTS Charlie and driver Shawn Lynk held off a host of pacers at Northside Downs to take the Saturday afternoon feature in 1:59. CONTRIBUTED/CHRIS ABBASSNORTH SYDNEY, N.S. — QTS Charlie won his second in a row and sixth from 11 starts, taking the afternoon's Winners Over class in one minute 59 seconds as part of a nine-race card held Saturday at Northside Downs.

Shawn Lynk left from post three with the seven-year-old gelding in a field of seven, but was forced three wide through the first turn by Keeperoftherealm and Thunder Alley, before finally clearing to the lead after a quick opening quarter in 28 seconds. From there, QTS Charlie would withstand a challenge from Revenant and Mark Pezzarello past the half and all the way up the backstretch. QTS Charlie would be swarmed in the stretch from all sides but withstood late challenges to win by a quarter length over Revenant, with Thunder Alley a length back in third.

Keeperoftherealm and Dontblvmejustwatch finished fourth and fifth, respectively, followed by A Better Man and Runaway Mystery.Ryan Campbell led all drivers on the afternoon, racking up four wins. Campbell's victories came aboard Bobjohnski in 2:01.3 for owners Jake Jacobs and Dr. Carl Buchanan, Classic Smiley in 2:00.

Other winners on the afternoon included Hot Rock Star for owner, trainer and driver Roddie Gillis in 2:04.1, State Of Mind for Randy Getto and the Carl Getto Racing Stable in 2:01, Dressel Hanover for Ardon Mofford and owner Greg White in 1:59.4, and Red Rum She Wrote for owner, trainer and driver Martin Bates in 1:58.3.The next live card of racing at Northside scheduled for this coming Saturday at 1 p.m.
