The designer took a break from preparing for the event to chat about her brand, her designs and what people can expect from her line.A. Grandi started in 2014 with my first runway show at Vancouver Fashion Week. I had left the banking sector and taken a couple of years to travel and figure out what it is I wanted to do. My left and right brains couldn’t come to an agreement on whether we enjoyed more creative or structured pursuits.
Q. You’re showing on opening night of Vancouver fashion Week. What can attendees expect from the show? A. Colours. This collection, Essential Colours, features wardrobe staples with a technicolour twist, made easy to mix and match for every occasion. It was actually inspired by the potential of a common pack of crayons to intrigue creative expression. And how something so simple and accessible, in different hands, can tell wildly different stories. I love the freedom to style it bold, fun, or quirky, or whatever you want to express about yourself.A. On my website ateliergrandi.com.
