While the timing of an announcement had yet to be confirmed, it could arrive during the PWHPA championships, March 11 and 12 in Los Angeles, or the NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has said the league won’t invest in a women’s pro circuit until there is one, unified league with a firm business plan. The PWHPA has been unable to reach an agreement with the Premier Hockey Federation, which increased its team salary cap from $300,000 to $1.5 million in its fourth year.
