The cat underwent emergency surgery at the Davao Emergency Veterinary Hospital after a bullet was found lodged in her body. The owner claims the incident occurred on January 29th but only sought veterinary care on February 3rd. While Bluei is now recovering at home, the veterinarian suspects the assailant is a wealthy individual who used the cat for target practice and urges authorities to strictly implement animal cruelty laws.

Despite the hospital’s recommendation to keep Bluei under medical supervision during recovery, she was discharged immediately after surgery.'The cat is now at home, still in pain but continuously recovering,' Lunar said.SunStar Davao reached out to the owner for further details, but she has not yet responded. However, Lunar confirmed that the owner claimed there were witnesses to the shooting and that they plan to file a case against the perpetrator.
