JOHOR BARU: Two investigation papers have been opened by police on the fourth day of campaigning for the Pulai parliamentary and Simpang Jeram state seat by-elections.
Johor police by-election spokesman Supt Ibrahim Mat Som said they also approved 22 permits for campaign events and ceramah on Tuesday .“The two investigations involve Section 505 of the Penal Code for making statements with intent to cause fear or alarm to the public and Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief.
“We have also approved two ceramah permits and 13 campaign permits for Pulai and five ceramah permits and two campaign permits in Simpang Jeram,” he said in a statement on Wednesday .He also reminded political parties and their supporters to conduct a healthy campaign without any form of provocation that could lead to public distress.
“Politicians are also reminded not to violate Section 24B of the Election Offences Act 1954 and not to touch on the 3Rs throughout the campaign period.
