BUTTERWORTH: A long crack line and broken side railings on a road has caused concern among road users although the Central Seberang Prai Public Works Department has reassured the public that there would be no immediate dangers.
A picture of the crack and bent railings on Jalan Rozhan was shared on the department’s Facebook page.
It said that the cracks were discovered in October last year and immediate remedial actions were taken. "A forensic test showed there was no structural damage to the road and retaining wall or will cause obstruction to users," said a department district engineer. However, as a short-term measure, the department has placed warning signs on the crack to allay the fears of concerned motorists.
The department would also discuss with consultants on the redesigning of the road and carry out remedial works.Article type: free
