Public Service Alliance of Canada is consolidating picket lines in Ottawa for \u0022the largest picket event of the strike\u0022 at Parliament Hill.
At a media scrum on the hill at 12:30 p.m., Aylward called on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to get involved and not “turn his back” on workers.
In an open letter earlier this week, Fortier repeated that the government has offered the union’s members a wage increase of nine per cent over three years, matching the recommendations of the third-party public interest commission released in February. She said the increase would provide the average employee with an extra $6,250 annually.
Fortier said the Treasury Board remains at the negotiating table, and that “the sooner the PSAC is ready to make real progress, the sooner we can deliver wage increases for our employees and end this strike.”Article content
