The Philippine Statistics Authority-Davao Region (PSA-Davao) has successfully delivered over three million physical national IDs and two million paper national IDs to residents in the region. Chief administrative officer Baby Jean P. Alid shared updates on the distribution process, highlighting challenges such as unlocatable addresses and 'return to sender' cases.

THE Philippine Statistics Authority- Davao Region ( PSA - Davao ) announced the delivery of over three million physical national IDs and two million paper national IDs in the region.During the Kapehan sa Dabaw on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Sangguniang Panlungsod, PSA - Davao chief administrative officer Baby Jean P. Alid shared updates on the ID distribution.

She clarified that the IDs are delivered to the addresses indicated in the national ID application, not to the location where registration took place. However, some addresses proved unlocatable, prompting PSA to contact the holders and instruct them to retrieve their IDs at the barangay hall.Alid said that IDs are delivered to the addresses provided by registrants, not the location where they registered. However, some addresses listed in the IDs were found to be unreachable. In these cases, the PSA contacted the holders and instructed them to pick up their IDs at their respective barangay halls.PSA-Davao also faces challenges such as 'return to sender' cases, where multiple IDs are returned due to unlocatable addresses. According to Alid, PhilPost forwards undeliverable IDs back to the PSA. Some of the IDs remain unclaimed because the holders have passed away.PSA-Davao has registered more than 4.6 million Dabawenyos to date, surpassing its 2024 target of 4.6 million. Nationally, the PSA has registered approximately 92 million Filipinos. Looking ahead, the PSA aims to set higher registration goals for the coming year.For individuals whose national ID photos have faded, PSA-Davao advised that they can surrender their IDs at any PSA office or registration area. A report will then be sent to the national PSA office, and the IDs will be replaced.The PSA reminded the public that national IDs are free of charge.
