Bruce Cockburn: 50 years of music, spirituality and social justice | SaltWireCHÉTICAMP, N.S. — A provincial funding announcement will help the Cheticamp River Salmon Association improve cold-water habitats for Atlantic salmon.

The need for the improvements comes after extreme weather events in recent years have led to barriers to fish passage that threaten the salmon population, according to a press release from the province. “The Sustainable Communities Challenge Fund was the perfect fit for this project by investing in our efforts to preserve these magnificent Cape Breton rivers which are so important to local culture and economies.”
